THE WATER DIVINER tribute to: Loloy (Ulbo) Gomonid

Water Diviners are gifted persons. Using a radar-like tool, they go around your property to determine the exact spot where you can bore well. Russel Crowe starred in the movie, The Water Diviner, the steps they perform finding water were detailed. I watched that movie and that was the only thing I saw of the trade. However, I had a conversation with a freind who hired one from out-of-town. He described to me in detail what I saw in the movie years later. The guy struck a spring that's still flowing to this day. I frequently go there to enjoy its water. There's only a handful of these chaps anywhere and Aloran is lucky to have had one. Though lacking in training, his ability and prowess to dig wells put him in par with his well-trained and well-equipt counterparts. Loloy Gomonid or Loloy Ulbo as he was fondly called was born and raised-and died in baranggay Ibabao. I was with friends recently reminiscing our boyhood days, Loloy Ulbo's name was mentioned, immediately one mentioned they had him dug their well. Just in Ibabao alone, dozens of wells, atabay and septic tanks that are still around stood as monuments to our own "Water Diviner".
