ALORAN, a perspective FASHION |
Fashion came and went. There was amboy, jack-shirt, contineous collar, bell-bottom, sinugong, hanging (baha), and you can go on and on. This was the Golden Age of tailoring and dress-making. Then came RTW (ready-to-wear) clothes, shirts, trousers and everything. Levis, Sears and Roebucks, Macomber, Sergio Valente, Calvin Klein, too many to mention. Youngsters were addicted to the "orig", and this drove the last nail to the tailors' and dress-makers' coffins. While some of these "origs" stayed, most faded-away and replaced by "signature" brands. Tommy Helfiger, Nautica, Polo Sports, FUBU, Abercrombie are among the most sought-after brands for shirts. For pants, Levis and Wrangler are the leaders. While in the Footwear front, Nike, Adidas, Puma and FILA are the dominant names. Though Converse can still be seen in few stores. Many of its comtemporaries are all but in the bin of history. And then, as if in an Act of God, His "lesser children" can no longer whine about being left behind in fashion, Okay-okay or ukay-ukay are popping-up. Aloran has several of them, and here, you will find everything, I mean, everything. |
