A LIFE WELL-LIVED...

HIGH SCHOOL
My Mentor

She had the reputation of being tough and mean. As a matter of fact, we started on wrong foot. She teaches Physics and was my class advisor in my senior year.

Her knowledge of Physics and her way of parting that knowledge made the subject looks easy. As a result, Physics came to be my favourite subject - besides the morning and afternoon break.

During most of our sessions, it seemed like it was just she and I having a dialouge, though there were few in the classroom who could have made the class interaction even more interesting.

She was also interested in our social life, in a good way.
She knew who is romantically-linked to whom and she loves to tease us enough for the girls' faces to blush!

I started high school with the family in financial difficulty, and none of it is lost from her.
Months before graduation, she handed me application forms, test questions and pointers for admission to the Philipine Military Academy (PMA) in Baguio City, the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PMMA) at Fort Bonifacio in Rizal, the Sen Gerry Roxas Scholarship Foundation and the Insular Life Scholarship Program.

She comes to school early in the morning, and at times, even on weekends to look into my exercise regimen for the PMA and PMMA admission.
My heart bled when I learned from her son how she passed away.
