GRADE SCHOOL Grade V

Mrs Nieves M Mutia When you are in 5th Grade, you begin to have different teachers for different subjects. Gardening for example, our teacher was Mr Generoso Cuajotor. It was under him that two sections were fused into one, when we experienced one we will never forget. And if I remember it correctly, every Wednesday, senior high school students from SMHS conduct Religion class for thirty minutes. After going on for a while, it became optional for non-catholics. That's when we, non-catholics, say we had two recess periods. We typically spend the second playing in the playground, within sight of our catholic classmates. Cocoy Orino, from a devout catholic family, a number of times, skipped these classes to join us in the playground. Mid-year, we had a practice teacher (today's intern), a pretty young lady from Panaon, next town, but still part of Jimenez at that time, Miss Lusica. I didn't have to say pretty, it was evident in the number of volunteer teachers in the religion class. Another beautiful memory I've collected in 5th grade is two of my classmates, Jocelyn Mutia and Pacita Villapania, both now deceased, sing "A Lover's Concerto", a very popular song at that time.
