MY AMERICAN DREAM Dream Come True |
|
After working for New Zealand Aluminum Smelters for two short years, the opportunity to work in America was knocking at my door, hard. A New-York City based consulting company was giving exams and interviews in Auckland for Software Development (Programming) positions in the United States. Modesty aside, it was a walk in the park. Late November 1991, my flight landed in Los Angeles, California. I stayed at my brod-in-law's place for a couple of days, then flew to Newark, New Jersey where my employer (RCG, Reliance Consulting Group, The former Vectron Systems) is based. Lito, the husband of one of the company's employees, met me at the airport and brought me to Wellesly Inn in Paramus, NJ. The following day, at the office in Ridgewood, my papers: application for SS number, bank account, driver license and others related to my employment with RCG. |
