The Flood of Nov 2022
Nov 25, 2022
Around 6:00PM, we started driving in an SUV to Ozamiz City to send-off passengers for Cebu.
We were about to enter Panaon when it poured (raining cats and dogs).
A few kilometers ahead, at the Panaon-Jimenez boundary, an accident that must have happened a bit earlier was blocking traffic where an expansion work on the bridge is still going on.
We were stacked a good an hour. It was 7:00PM when we finally crossed the one-lane bridge.
Thanks to our professional driver, we got to Ozamiz a mere few minutes prior to departure time.
Coming home was worse.
A few hundred meters before Panaon proper, the road was virtually a river. Rural buses, cargo trucks, SUVs, sedans, vans, tricycles and singles were all stacked.
We passed after like 20 minutes.
We were relieved noticing the rain has stopped, but then we heared a motorist mentioned Makawa.
Not again!
But, oww, yes again.
Mora'g suba ang kalsada tungod sa Makawa. Sug pag-ayo ang tubig. Maayo na lang gani kay pag-abot namo didto, nihubas nag gamay ang tubig.
